The TLB-425 from Allmand Bros. is powered by a 25-horsepower Kubota D1105 diesel engine. The unit’s 65-horsepower rated hydrostatic transmission boasts a servo-control feature, which offers the operator finite control of the machine as well as reduced pedal effort in either forward or reverse travel mode. Additionally, the transmission case is constructed from cast iron to minimize noise. The backhoe’s design features oversized polished pins with replaceable composite bearings and urethane lip seals in all working joints, a design that greatly reduces friction and extends service intervals by eliminating metal to metal contact, retaining grease levels and keeping out debris.
The WB140PS-2 and the WB150PS-2 from Komatsu feature new power shift transmission, Electronic Gear Management and anti-theft mode. The power shift transmission is electronically controlled with four forward and three reverse gears and can reach a top speed of 25 miles per hour. The microprocessor fitted in the EGM not only manages the commands sent to the transmission but also offers other important functions such as system self-diagnostics, automatic connection/disconnection of the four-wheel drive and activation of the anti-theft alarm using a PIN code. The WB140PS-2 is 16,600 pounds and 86 horsepower with a maximum digging depth of 14 feet 6 inches, while the WB150PS-2 is 17,394 pounds and 98 horsepower with a maximum digging depth of 15 feet 6 inches.
The Ditch Witch RT70 is a compact, medium-utility, rubber-tire tractor designed to meet a wide range of underground construction needs. An integrated front cast weight eliminates the need for an extended weight rack, allowing the tractor to work productively in tight jobsite areas, according to the manufacturer. An operator-oriented workstation with canopy shade is designed to increase comfort and productivity. A choice of two transmissions and a variety of interchangeable attachments enhance the tractor’s versatility.
Komatsu Utility Corp. introduces the D21A-7 and D21P-7 compact dozers. These models feature an operating weight of 8,710 pounds to 9,220 pounds. The dozers also include a rubber track option. Additional features include the hydroshift transmission with single-lever steering, a pressure proportional control joystick and 6-way power-angle-tilt blade.
The 312C and 315C hydraulic excavators from Caterpillar offer improved performance through increased horsepower and hydraulic flow, enhanced controllability and a new cab interior layout for optimum operator efficiency. Both models use the proven open-center, two-pump hydraulic system. The 312C and 315C have increased hydraulic flows of 6 percent and 13 percent, respectively. The hydraulic cross-sensing system improves productivity with faster implement speeds and quicker, stronger pivot turns.
Ingersoll Equipment Co. introduces its 7020 LBH compact four-wheel drive tractor. Engineered as an integral part of the tractor and frame, the loader has a heavy-duty lift arm with a reinforced bucket for maximum strength and single lever control operation. Lift capacity of the bucket is 750 pounds at full height, and the backhoe is coupled to the tractor via mounting arms that are connected to a counter weight. It offers a 92-inch digging depth with joystick controls and a selection of buckets from 8 to 24 inches.
PowerHouse Equipment introduces the Prodigy, a 13-horsepower compact loader that can trench, auger, till, move materials and much more. The product’s attachments include standard and mulch buckets, trenchers, auger power heads, 6- to 24-inch augers, tillers, rippers and tow hitches. The loader and its attachments can be transported with ease on a custom built trailer. It is a valuable tool to increase productivity while reducing the laborers necessary to complete the job.
